The endurance road bike category these days is basically chock full of all-road bikes. Gravel bikes are basically a throwback to a lot of the OG mountain bikes, but they're trendy and they sell so a lot of folks are on them because they think they need them. You honestly don't need gravel bikes for most of the stuff that folks take gravel bikes on. And there's so much you can do on 32mm tires that so many modern day road bikes are more than capable enough for! There's just so much out there these days. Including enticing photos is always welcome.

With that said, I'd love to hear what some of you experienced distancers have come to prefer. I feel like the modern gravel explosion has probably got everything I want covered, which is a good thing. My future bike needs to look cool and reflect my interesting and unique personality. I'm not loading it up for the Divide or for any extended bikepacking stuff just wanting long days on a bike in comfort and style. I'm not a racer, but I do like a spirited feeling in a bike, and I also want to be able to take on light trails off the road. Notice that the distance riding community includes anything that has wheels, so stop overthinking it.Figure out what works and doesn't work for me with the experience gained from step 1.I've been reading instead of riding, and I know certain things are true: If you will indulge me one more thread on this topic, I'd like to get your own views on the ideal rig (bike, wheels, bags, lights, anything worth mentioning) for your brevets and long rides of any sort.
